ALL WILL END WELL Ola Korbańska 19 March – 30 April 2022 Opening Saturday 19 March from 17-19hrs. PS is pleased to announce a solo exhibition ALL WILL END WELL by Ola Korbańska. The exhibition shows monumental textile works that Korbańska designed especially for this exhibition and performed during her working period in PS projectspace in Amsterdam. ALL WILL END WELL The double-sided textiles of Korbańska are partially inspired by the painting, the artist saw in a Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands. “Portrait of Margaretha von Mochau” by Barthel Bruyn the Elder form 1524 - the panel presenting a young lady, a bride in fact on one side, and a skull on the other. Even a banal, hopeful saying has a second side to the story. And both of them, even if contrasted, interlace one with another. Work is a response to current events in Europe but can be also read broadly, as a sign of zeitgeist, bitter and ironic like an internet meme. Freedom, democracy, and human rights are not given forever - they require constant renewal. Things, indeed, will end well, but it takes a long way for them to end. And what will be the grand finale anyway? Ola Korbańska is a visual artist / multidisciplinary designer, born in Poland and based in Berlin. Using various media such as design, written text, and illustration, she inquires about the nature of objects in the context of temporarity and perception. All in conceptual, a bit Duchampian spirit.
