FRAUKE DANNERT

Staggering, Stumbling, Almost Dancing…

Opening: 12 May 16.00 – 18.00 hrs.
12 May – 30 June 2024

PS projectspace is proud to announce "Staggering, Stumbling, Almost Dancing…" by Frauke Dannert.

For the solo exhibition "Staggering, Stumbling, Almost Dancing..." at PS projectspace, Frauke Dannert is showing recently created graphite paintings and a new series of works on paper.

Dannert's artistic work is based on the principle of collage. The formal language of her works is based on the process of so-called paper cut-outs, for which she collects amorphous structures of varying scans of leaves and grasses - similar to the found-footage principle in film - and playfully fuses them together using the frottage technique. In a process of reproduction and deconstruction, the artist defies spatial regularities and creates alternative spaces of perception and experience. By assembling individual fragments of leaves, she creates idiosyncratic, figurative forms that move dynamically from one work to the other.

"Staggering, Stumbling, Almost Dancing…" is the first solo exhibition of by Frauke Dannert in PS projectspace. Her work was previously part of the groupshow RADICAL POSITIONS; Charlotte Posenenske, Frauke Dannert, Gerold Miller, John Nixon, Michelle Grabner, Steven Parrino in 2020.
